TEC COMMON CATHODE TECHNOLOGY

TEC Common Cathode Technology has revolutionized the NPP LED display market with high refresh rate IC driver,such as 1.2mm, 0.9mm small pitch LED video wall.
The LED device has two terminals, an anode and a cathode, and each pixel consists of three LEDs (red, green and blue), requiring a total of 6 terminals.
In traditional Common Anode LED panel designs, the terminals of all 3 (red, green & blue) LEDs are wired together and an external ballast resistor is added in series with the red LED to maintain a constant voltage and equalize the voltage drop across all three LEDs. This subsequently reduces available space for the LEDs making fine pixel pitch harder to achieve, while it is also an additional heat source and accelerates the aging process and reduces the lifetime.
In Common Cathode technology, separate, dedicated power supply voltages are supplied to the red, green and blue LEDs enabling the power supplied to the red LED to be controlled separately and eliminating the requirement for a ballast resistor.
This technology dramatically reduce the power dissipation of the LED display system and create very efficient power consumption across the range. Here the advantage below:

The differences between nationstar SMD LED and 


Kinglight SMD LED ?


TEC Displays used middle and high-end quality and cost-effective SMD LED from brand company, like Nationstar and Kinglight, some of clients will ask what is the main differences between them? Here we have some simple explanations.
  Firstly of all, Nationstar is bigger and longer history LED packing company than Kinglight, price is much more for sure. Kinglight is much more competitive this is why suggested to use in the rental led displays applications, they both have warranty on LEDs.

For nationstar LED:

Luminous decay : 5% in 2,000hours, 10% every year after one year.
Dead LED pixel rate : 0.01% within two years, 0.03% after two years.

For kinglight LED:

Luminous decay  : 7-10% at the first year, 12-19% every year after one year.

AOB, COB, GOB???

AOB: Admixture on board, it is patent of AET. 
  AOB is the newest technology from AET due to the disadvantages of COB and GOB, it uses the special material filled between LEDs, and costing film on LEDs, protects the LED PCB well like COB or GOB without effecting the brightness,heating and view angle of LED display.

COB: Chip on board.
COB is Chip on board, which is a different chip encapsulation technology, all chips directly integrated packaged on the special PCB board, while what we said encapsulation tech is putting three RGB led chips to integrate inside an SMD electronics package to produce the individual SMD diodes.


Advantages and disadvantages: 

1, High protection for LEDs.

2, LED Colour non-uniformity.  
    COB has a risky during the process of wavelength and color splitting and picking for all chips on the boards, which make it difficult to get perfect color uniformity for whole display.
3, The maintenance for COB is also a problem waiting to be solved.
4,  Gap bewteen module connection.

GOB: Glue on borad.
GOB is Glue on board to get high protection led display, which is an analogy as module encapsulation. It is working on the whole display module, by using a patented transparent glue covering the surface of module’s PCB board already with thousands SMD lamps soldered on it, finally the module getting the special shield on its surface.

Advantages and disadvantages: 


1, High protection for LEDs.

2, The maintenance for GOB is also hard to solved.
3,  light reflection because of glue water covered.
4, Gap between modules due to glue water.

How to choose the correct indoor fine pitch LED displays ?

1.View angle

View angles is deciding how many audience can view the LED screen clearly . Wider view angle , more people can view it . So it can make your cost and advertising maximization . The view angle is cause by encapsulation of the LEDs , therefore , if you have enough budget , choose the better encapsulation of the LED, and also take care of the mask covering the LED board.

2. Brightness 

Someone must noticed if the brightness is too high , it's hard for our eyes , but if too low , the screen will not clear enough. So the standard brightness for indoor LED display is 600-1000 nits.

3. Flatness

Bad flatness will absolutely make the effect of the LED screen worse , and the standard flatness is keeping ±1 mm . Our fine pitch LED display flatness reach to ±0.2 mm. So , when we are making the solution , die-casting aluminum cabinet will be the best for indoor LED displays .

4. The LEDs

There are two type of LEDs for indoor , white SMD LED and black SMD LED , the black LEDs we are using mostly for the pixel pitch which is lower than 5mm , and we have to choose the black LEDs for indoor LED screen , this is a very important point. All our LED black face LED.

5. Dead pixels

The LED screen are made with so many small pixel LEDs ,  less dead pixels , better effect . It is also according to the technology and original material , when you asking the price , make sure the original material is what you need .  it is better to be a brand company.

5,What is LED? 
There are two types of LED panels: conventional (using discrete LEDs) and surface-mounted device (SMD) panels. Most outdoor screens and some indoor screens are built around discrete LEDs, also known as individually mounted LEDs. A cluster of red, green, and blue diodes is driven together to form a full-color pixel, usually square in shape. 6,What is indoor LED display? 
Most indoor screens on the market are built using SMD technology — a trend that is now extending to the outdoor market. An SMD pixel consists of red, green, and blue diodes mounted in a single package, which is then mounted on the driver PC board. The individual diodes are smaller than a pinhead and are set very close together. The difference is that the maximum viewing distance is reduced by 25% from the discrete diode screen with the same resolution
Indoor use generally requires a screen that is based on SMD technology and has a minimum brightness of 600candelas per square meter (cd/m², sometimes informally called nits). This will usually be more than sufficient for corporate and retail applications, but under high ambient-brightness conditions, higher brightness may be required for visibility. Fashion and auto shows are two examples of high-brightness stage lighting that may require higher LED brightness. Conversely, when a screen may appear in a shot on a television studio set, the requirement will often be for lower brightness levels with lower color temperatures; common displays have a white point of 6500–9000 K, which is much bluer than the common lighting on a television production set.

7,What is oudoor LED display? 
For outdoor use, at least 2,000 cd/m² is required for most situations, whereas higher-brightness types of up to 5,000 cd/m² cope even better with direct sunlight on the screen. (The brightness of LED panels can be reduced from the designed maximum, if required.)
